This letter, dated June 27, 1943, was sent to Louise Latimer by the Edison Pioneers, an organization honoring those who contributed to Thomas Edison's innovations. The letter acknowledges Louise Latimer's donation of a group photograph to the Edison Pioneers headquarters and expresses appreciation for her contribution to preserving historical records of the organization. Along with the group’s then-President Edwin W. Hammer, Lewis Latimer had been a founding member of the Edison Pioneers in 1918. The group consisted of early employees of Thomas Edison, along with Edison himself. Edwin Hammer had also been an employer of Lewis Latimer, from circa 1911 to circa 1924.
