This is a sepia-toned photograph of Lewis and Mary Latimer and their daughters, Jeannette and Louise, probably taken around the time of their fiftieth wedding anniversary, November 10, 1923. The setting may be the Latimers’ backyard at 64 Holly Street in Flushing, Queens.
Jeannette and Louise Latimer were a constant presence in their parents’ lives, and were involved in planning the festivities to celebrate Lewis and Mary’s Golden Anniversary in 1923.
