Bottles of Perfection Art Stain
Object/Artifact
These antique bottles, contain vibrant art stains used for coloring wooden and art objects, belonged to Lewis H. Latimer, and/or to his daughter, Louise Latimer. The labels provide detailed instructions: "Apply with brush but not until the design has been burnt in." The stains are noted for their transparency, allowing them to avoid obscuring fine details such as burnt lines. Each bottle promises an "unequaled artistic finish" when paired with a gloss application. The collection demonstrates the meticulous approach to art and craftsmanship in the early 20th century.

A set of four vintage Perfection Art Stain bottles in red, yellow, green, and blue.
